Unfortunately, one of the most popular work from home scams today are assembly work from home job postings. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. These are too good to be true. Don't waste your time.

Their ads sound very attractive. They promise you can make money fast from home in your free time by assembling their products. Everything from sewing, woodworking, crafts or making jewelry. They also list envelope stuffing work from home opportunities or mailing out circulars on their behalf. They claim thousands of people are already making quick money working at home. It's just not true.

First of all, if these are legitimate work from home jobs, why is the unemployment rate so high? I think that alone answers the question of "is it a legit work from home job?"

The unemployed would be employed if these were real money making jobs.

If you're considering a job assembling work from home, do your research before making any commitments.

• Never pay a fee to join a program and always make sure the company is a member of the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
• Check with the Better Business Bureau to see if the company has any complaints filed against it.

The catch to these jobs is that they'll require that you pay for a starter kit with a money back guarantee of course. If you decide you want to assemble the product, a refundable registration fee is also required in addition to the starter kit you just paid for.

Here's how it typically plays out.

• You assemble the products and mail them into the company for inspection.
• They'll tell you the product doesn't meet their standards.
• You've assembled their product and now they don't have to pay you because who knows what their standards are?

You'll never know because they'll have to pay you if they tell you.

My point is, be extremely careful and do your research if you decide to pursue one of these work from home opportunities. The majority are just work from home scams attempting to take advantage of the vulnerable who are in dire need of a job.
